Re: My Volvo 850 T5 !
yeah sound mate, cant wait to get it mapped up, made the big mistake of driving a mapped one a few weeks ago running only 262bhp with a leaking intercooler and it was bloody s##t hot torque and the pull was immense.

Re: My Volvo 850 T5 !
Hello everyone, not a lot to report here as ive not actually done anything significant to the old thunder storm on wheels....
i finally received the old dyno print out form my work mate so i could see exactly what the car put out @ what boost and im a happy chappy indeed
The 245bhp and 258lb/sf was made at 12.1 psi of boost dropping to 10 PSI @ 6000rpm where it makes the peak 245bhp. Good thing about that is it means its doing 20bhp more than stock with an increase of just 1.4psi (8.6psi stock) and the torque is boosted 37lb/sf by an increase off 3.5psi
So fingers crossed a map alone running 16psi would really do the business on the old 5 cylinder lump, combined with the hybrid ive got planned soon it should be i real beast
And i also found out that a big contributor to the smoking was an incorrect dipstick....tut, so the car had 1.7 litres of oil extra...woops!
thanks

Re: My Volvo 850 T5 !
Okay its been a while on th update front.......
and there only bad new haha, turbo going, heater matrix going, power steering pump going, steering rack leaking, wheel bearing going, dash light issues,.........
but surprisingly im still inlove with the bugger!, still hoping to get a TD04 15G/16T hybrid on soon along with a map and settle it around 280-300bhp @ 16psi but for the past few months cars have been used for work and thats it unfortunately so no modding or repairing.
Im just simply not getting board with this 10 mile long beast it ticks all the boxes for me ................ well, apart from fuel costs that is!

thanks mate, yeah it nothing to bad. I have a wheel bearing and power steering pump waiting to go on and as for the rack they have come down in price to about 150 quid so thats not to bad, i have to keep remembering that im driving a 165,000 mile car so Volvo or not its going to go wrong lol, wear and tear etc.
Thought id say aswell i got dusted by an R32 GTR the other week unsurprisingly!! but he dropped back and gave me a thumbs up for the sound alone haha......something good came from that little race

Re: My Volvo 850 T5 !
right, finally got the wheel bearing done its been noisy for around 8 months haha, but working at a Volvo specialists has meant a free bearing heheeee, would normally be around 150 quid!!
Also the car did me proud on Friday night when 3 "Chavs" in a bright yellow Seat Leon Cupra R tried to overtake me.........only to end up slowly disappearing out of my side window
I was a little worried about being made to look stupid in front of 3 chavs seen as the Leon has 221bhp for that year (mine 250but weighing a fair bit more) but never the less the granddad smoke machine won the fight hehe (pat on the roof for the Volvo).
New power steering pump and belt tomorrow
thanks
