Re: My Polo 6n2
you putting the turbo on the standard engine then mate? what sorta cost will it be as theres plenty of conversions that have been done ie 1.8t, or g40, which might be a similar cost etc,

Re: My Polo 6n2
yeah my boss knows everything when it comes to turboing and tuning sooo hopefully the car will be ok and will be pretty cheap to do it all, not gunna be anymore than 100bhp but it'll just give it a little kick which is what it needs tbh haha

Re: My Polo 6n2
nice one mate!! i ran mine as a low boost back when i first got it, it ran 96.6bhp and the same torque.
It was plenty enough to have alot of fun and i ran only 4 psi on a Garrett GT15 454 turbo to achieve on stock compression and no intercooler it gave full boost at little over 2k and the fuel economy was great if you used the turbo in the right way.
Ive heard about were you work so you'll no how to go about what your doing properly but ill say it anyway for good will ......if you are going low boost and you intend on sticking to it then pick your turbo well, a nice small turbo will be perfectly at home running 4-6psi and then youll be able to experience a near perfect flat torque curve and the car will be so so good and easy to drive on the road ive seen alot of people stick an over sized turbo to a car only to run a few psi which juts spoils the setup
cant wait to see the build and look forward to seeing the end result
turbo's on small engines rule hehe good luck to you mate
thanks
Jason

Re: My Polo 6n2
just remember to pipe the turbo to something if your running it without boost for abit, if you run it venting to atmosphere your heading for a new turbo straight off
thanks
Jason
thanks

Re: My Polo 6n2
update got car running today turbo sounds mint and everythings ook blows lots of air but ive had to leave the car at work because its got low oil pressure soo thinking when ive put silicone on sump to bolt it up its fell in and the pick up pipe has pulled it up soo it cant pull any oil up, soo going in early in morning to pull sump back off and see what the problem is. soo not happy at the moment

Re: My Polo 6n2
think you may be right in your first guess, where have you taken a feed from for the turbo oil feed??
thanks
JASON
thanks

Re: My Polo 6n2
its been took from where the oil pressure switch is, what we did was put a T piece in and put the switch in the end and the oil feed from the middle.
cheers for the help.

Re: My Polo 6n2
hhhmm
there is a chance that there is a pressure drop in the T piece caused by the oil feeding to the turbo and therefore the oil pressure switch is not seeing what it wants to, im assuming you think the pressure is low due to the light coming on right???
If so then this could be why
thanks
