Airtec's Mondeo Mk3 2.2 Turbo Diesel front mount Intercooler upgrade
Airtec's Mondeo Mk3 2.0/2.2 Turbo Diesel front mount Intercooler upgrade!
Airtec Mondeo Mk3 2.0/2.2 Turbo Diesel front mount Intercooler (comes with full brackets and fittings included)
Airtec's latest creation is this intercooler for the Mondeo 2.0 & 2.2 Turbo diesels, they have now changed the total design with new high flow 60mm core and Angled flow end tanks, which in turn has increased power, torque & also lowered ATC Temps, Yes its really that good.

BHP & Torque gains on Standard car fitted with Airtec Intercooler upgrade, Rolling road carried out @ AMD. (Gains. 5.2 bhp increase & we saw the torque rise by a massive 31.5 lb/ft , this figure will be easily doubled when fitted to a remapped Mondeo.)
Test results from Street Performance's Modified Mondeo Diesel.
Mods on car are :
-Free Flow exhaust & decat
-Pipercross panelfilter
-Massive Airtec Intercooler upgrade
-Custom map up to 3.3k rpm
Street Performance's Modified Mondeo made 208bhp & 441 lbft of torque! with the above mods.
Quotes by David @ Street Performance
Figures are very good, even without map it does 173hp instead of 155hp.With mapping we saw the power rise up to 208hp.
We did limit the car's torque for more pull through the revs & as smooth power curve as possible (but will be raised 10-20Nm after some more fiddling with the map! along with 220+hp to make ST220/ ST225 owners jealous, with same or better performance with 40-50MPG
They also tested 2 cars to see what the Intake Air charge tempertures were under load, a Complete standard car and street performance's modified Mondeo, Both cars tested with 8 degrees Ambient Air temps, Results -
Completely Standard car under load, the Intake tempertures kept rising up to 55-60° and above! Fully tuned car with the Airtec Intercooler fitted and the Intake temps never went higher then 15°, so IC works very well and gives much less stress on engine.
Ford's mighty ST-tdci engine shows it true potensial for low cost upto a huge 460lb/sf from simple stage two mods.
