Ferrari F50 (1995-1997)

Trust Ferrari to be bold enough to put a Formula one engine in a production car and of course to get it right with the F50. The 4.7-litre V12 lump featured in the supercar was a direct descendant of the engine that nearly earned Alain Prost top honours in the 1990 F1 World championship. Just as important to the F50's acheivement as a true race car made for the road was its easy to access driving experience the F50 left its forefather the F40 for dead on a twisty track so sweet and accessible was its handling. Perhaps the car's ungainly looks and zero practicality were the only thorns in its side but those issues apart the F50 was yet another classic Italian stallion from the Ferrari stables.
