Little update for the T-5 :)
Its been a while so thought id put a little update on!
The car is finally receiving the treatment it deserves i decided to send my stock turbo off for a recon and had it fitted with the slightly larger more efficient 16T compressor wheel. it recently went to Nobles to be checked over before i began any more mods and it manages a 240bhp/252lb/sf run @ 12psi of boost (2 psi over stock) but sadly a rather substantial boost leak was found causing a rich mixture, boost tailing off and a loss in power so i never got to see what it should have been at!
After Noble's i fitted a remapped ECU however the map turned out to be flawed and boost was hitting 16psi before dropping rapidly back down to 12psi which i ran before on a manual boost controller....
After that bad experience i decided to go for a well known map and ordered a RICA 304 ecu the map is designed to run 99 octane fuel only and peaks at 18psi, aiming for 304bhp on a stock 850, realistically with my 16T hybrid, exhaust and filter id be happy to see 270-280bhp and around 300lb/sf of torque.
It goes like stink!, managing to spin the wheel in the dry through second gear and with a little lock on it spins in third too! could really do with a limited slip diff :/
Ive also ordered a 3" BSR downpipe and some silicone boost hoses as i doubt the stock hoses will take 18psi for long!, they dont last long at the stock cars 10psi boost after 170.000miles haha.
it will be back of the Nobles soon for another power run and a check over but its now in need of some bigger or better brakes, the added power is to much for the stock 280mm brakes, hopefully going to try and pick up some police spec 302mm brakes with twin pot callipers
Also fitted a new front splitter from a volvo 940 turbo
few new pics
thanks
Jason
