Re: methnol injection
I think its a video on water injection mate, dont now about anybody else
There is a write up in the water injection section on here mate, all you need to know if your considering the purchase. Ive ran it on the Cinq fro some time and i believe its saved the engine many times aswell as increasing the power noticeably. Highly recommended on small engines running high power / high boost.......

Well for starters you need to think about what results you are hoping to get from using water meth, depending on this helps you correctly mount the jet/jets in the correct place.
Water meth is mostly to lower charge temps more than gain big power, its a safety devise.
You dont always have to have the car remapped but its worth having it set up on the rolling road because the methanol/water ratio can be changed to compensate for a change in the fueling and the jet size or pump pressure can be changed while on the rolling road, again this is to get the right balance in charge dropping charge temps without over injecting water into an engine. This will ensure you get the best from water injection.

Re: methnol injection
Thank you for you help jay I think the main reason I want it is to keep the engine cool and temps down because the last think I want is the head going and it end up worping the head if you understand we're I am coming from
Thanks
Matt
Thanks

Well water methanol is one step in the right direction. After all the ignited charge in the cylinder is what conducts heat through the head, but equally important is your cooling system itself. Ensure your cooling system is okay for running lots of power and boost
Due to the poor design in the 8 valve f.i.r.e engine range like i run on the Cinq i went to levels such as running no thermostat which isnt ideal but then i wanted to ensure a cool running head! while loosing some combustion efficiently etc

Re: methnol injection
I am going to fit a oil temp gauge and sencer to the punto as well, its juat the biggest fear for me is over heating, but I haven't really drive the car good yet to see how it reacts,I have only drive it to work and back a few times and a 15 min drive the temp didn't even reach half way :S

Re: methnol injection
IMHO:
Dont bother. For any actual benefits you need to be running higher boost or more flow than the stock turbo can give, and the stock GT turbo is simply not capable of much over 170bhp before crapping itself. It does that power easiliy enough with the SEB 2 spec and a good FMIC so kinda pointless to meth inject until you have a better flowing turbo.
OR, inject pre-compressor - proven to make much more of a difference by raising the operating capability of the turbo itself. You might pull another 20-30bhp out of a stock turbo this way, who knows...

Re: methnol injection
Totally agree on the pre turbo set-up. I was in the process of fitting this to the Cinq before i sold the bloody meth kit never got experience the results....dam
Also i just want to stress again the biggest benefit with water meth is the reliability it brings rather than power for the Punto, so in my opinion it worth fitting to a wide variety of smaller capacity turbocharged cars where DET or even charge temps alone can be an issue. The cinq was set up and ran fine without the meth kit but i do genuinely believe that its presence at higher boosts stopped my engine detting when the mixture ran dangerously lean often, so in that sense it was worth every penny regardless of the fact it improved the power impressively with s single jet mounted 2ft from the plenum
Alot of friends of mine running 1.2-1.4 turbo cars have experience a fueling issue that has resulted in a blown ring of piston yet i managed to avoid this with some severe fueling issues over some 10-15.000 miles so i love my meth !! (assuming it played a big enough role )
