The inspirational car picture thread
Rules:
ONE car per post only. And that doesn't mean posting lots of times!
The car has to be inspirational to YOU. So Bugatti Veyrons etc will get deleted, unless they are suitably modified in such a way to be inspirational.
For example, you could post a pic of the car that you feel has most influenced your own car's evolution. Or you could just post a pic of a car mod that makes you think "wow, thats neat, I'll do that". OR, just a certain car pic thats so awesome that it makes you go weak at the knees....
A short description of why you feel it is inspirational would be nice, too.
Mitto Steele's 2010 s14. This is probably the main car that makes me want to keep my "zenki" front end, becase it looks SOOO cool. Makes the 14a "kouki" front look rubbish. Previous to this car, I didnt think zenkis could ever look good!

No-one else playing? Fine, this will be my personal car wank-bank then
This PS13 makes me do a little wee in my pants. I'm completely undecided whether I want to build one of these from ground up over winter, or continue with the S14... its an argument I've had with myself for weeks now lol

Seriously? Over 50 views and not one reply? So no-one else on here actually cares about cars that much then?
Anyways, one of the baddest-ass e46's ever built!
Phil Morrison's e46 M3 with V10 engine conversion, almost finished!
This is his current daily

(edited for to be nice and smiley etc)
Come on people, whats with the lack of replies? Surely theres more than just myself who uses this site?
Lets face it, we're all car enthusiasts, and we all have our own tastes, and our own personal inspiration.... so why not share the love?
OK, GET POSTING!!!
Another close favourite... sorry its still drift based...
Nakamura's Team Burst PS13. Team Burst are world famous for having some of the wackiest (and obvious) car styling, which matches their driving skills - very few people in the world can do what they do as accurately and as predictably. Maybe its something to do with the fact that Nakamura hits the track nearly every day for practice.
That notch in his spoiler? That was ground into by wall rubbing over and over again.... now that takes SKILL!

Team BS Bildeler in Norway, build some of the craziest s-bodies ever. This particular car has a fully worked SR23VET (thats a sr20det with a double cam profile (VTEC style) head off the nissan X-trail, of all things!). It pushes over 700bhp and 670Nm of torque. It has a sequential box, and pretty much every other part on it uprated to mega spec.
If you want to see one of the coolest nissans in the world do its thing, then watch this latest video... (yes theres a supra as well)

Re: The inspirational car picture thread
Thread tidied, because I'm an absolutely top guy.
Love the old 850s, thats a cool shot!
http://www.thebritishdriftchampionship.co.uk/driver-intro-jarack-jeek-federico-bmw-540/
I was drifting alongside this dude on Saturday. What an absolute ANIMAL of a car. All he's done is bought a once-expensive 540i relatively cheap, left the engine more or less stock, and modified the handling/chassis... and along the way made it look totally amazing! Also the unsilenced V8 sounds the absolute bollocks. Makes you wonder why we piss about tuning 2 litres when for not much more you could have something like this...

Re: The inspirational car picture thread
ahhhh i for some reason thought they were succesful too but really they weren't lol something like 11th and 13th in the year the estate competed lol it was the saloon that did well but that was due to more development, i do love how low they are, it makes them look like such a pimp wagon but then they let fly with the 300bhp N/A 2.0 20v mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm porn!!!!!!!!!!

Re: The inspirational car picture thread
Anthony " Scotty" Scott's Rocket Bunny Sil-80.
A drift car that has its origins in a barn in Hexham, it is world famous mainly due to its massive 6666 rocket bunny arches, and ultra-classy looking race graphics. Also possibly because it usually looks imacculate!
This car used to have a ~600bhp hybrid RB30DET engine in, which sounded the nuts, but ultimately was too unreliable and expensive to fix, and it threw a rod through the rb30 block last year.
So it now runs a worked sr20det with ~400bhp. He says going back to the sr20 was maybe one of the best decisions he's made, because the much lighter engine (and therefore weight distribution) and the peakier power band makes him work the car much harder than before, so he does better in competition as a result.

Re: The inspirational car picture thread
Martin Ffrench's Toyota Altezza sr22det
I really dont care much for IS200s/Altezzas. To me, they are heavy, underpowered, cost a lot to tune compared to s-bodies, and the original mould for "lexus lights". Bah.
Yet a few months ago at Teesside, I kept looking (and listening) to Ffrenchy's Altezza, and for some reason, I keep having to watch his qualifying runs on youtube. Almost bordering on obsession today (while trying to do college work, lol)
Why? Well, its quite simple. Its the most awesome sounding SR DET I've ever heard! Somehow his altezza (and his old s14 which the engine came from) has a note that I havent heard from any other sr. Much as the VET cylinder heads sound awesome, this thing still has the normal DET head giving the characteristic growl which is either loved or hated. Only... its even more growly. No rasp, just pure war cannon sounds! I like it so much, I'm trying really hard to find out what manifold and system he uses - I want!
But when you look at the car itself, it is a work of art. At first glance, it looks like an average Altezza with a nissan engine bunged in. But there's so much more to it than that! The dry carbon doors/mirrors and boot, the rack of Greddy gauges, the digital dash, the bored/stroked SR22 engine with around 500bhp... and the clean minimal graphics look.
Obviously the car has more sponsorship stickers on since those photos were taken, but they are still very restrained compared to your usual pro level drift cars.
His company, Wexican Motorsport, are responsible for insane creations that are 100% perfection. No idea what happened to this half finished build - the plan was a sub-600kg, 700bhp hayabusa engined altezza to run in time attack Either they couldnt afford to finish to the standard they wanted, or its still in the making - probably the latter, no-one knows what goes on over there in the Wexican crib!!!

http://www.saxperience.com/forum/showthread.php?t=268934
quick spec: rebuilt 106 GTi, TU5-JP4 with ITBs, high-comp internals, DTA S40, and 101 trick bits
Mario may or may not have seen this, but its inspirational across the board... its an on-going 2-year-old build and it is EPIC, the attention to detail and custom fab work done by similar bunches of amateurs such as ourselves...
Custom hand-milled fuel rail and shifter mechanism are just two examples
Fantastic. I wish I could be bothered to put that sort of effort in.

Re: The inspirational car picture thread
Got a real inspirational car here... for me anyways! I recently discovered an Australian silvia forum (its strange, there are literally hundreds of forums dedicated to silvias worldwide...) where there are loads of epic rides... their cops are real hard on mods over there but they dont care, they just get on with it, building crazy low and cool looking cars, and driving them hard on track!
So found this... I was overawed... its EXACTLY how I always envisaged mine would look if I kept the current colour... maybe not quite as stanced, but bodywise....! I mean, I already have the same roof lip, boot spoiler waiting to be painted, and same skirts on their way as we speak... also I have the same crystal sidelights and have plans for the same clear headlight and indicators... (quite a task, actually, which is why most people leave em stock)

Yes, the wheel fitment is ridiclous, but props to the guy, its no show queen, it gets used and abused HARD at drift days.
Inspirational to me as far as proving that this colour of zenki can look amazing!
