My Punto 60
hi guys, just coming back from leeds tonight with jay and we decided to test the performance on the HTC thing that jay has and see what it brings back, here are the results -
im happyier than i thought i would be because i no the engine needs a little TLC to get it running upto standards, i cant beilieve how accurate the estimated BHP was on the HTC because its pritty much cock on with what me and jay think it is running with the engine issues!
Ill be trying another run soon as im back into work now so ill get some bits sorted out and ill see what i can get it too!

Re: My Punto 60
I love this bit off kit, its the same basic program i used to time mine before i new how to get these graphs ans stuff off it
It works out an estimated BHP by using the data i put in (weight off the car, drag coificient, transminssion drag loss etc) and then uses the info from the sensors and the GPS to estimate how much power would be required to do the run and its known to be very accurate if you can factor in reliable info.
12 seonds isnt bad at all mate because as stock they are about 13 and we now you had to back off early on the 1/4mile run so that wasnt bang on accurate....ow and 0.28g peak acceleration aswell, not bad!
thanks
jason

Re: My Punto 60
it is a program for the HTC desire phone, there are a few out there and some are far from accurate but this one was highly rated and it was an expensive program. It uses the built in G meters and accelerometers to determine peak acceleration force and it also uses the GPS with delay and lag devices to accurately give point to point performance times within 0.1 off a second. I used it tio time my times i have down fro my car and compared them live to the Greddy Full Auto Timer and they were pretty much the same although
You have to ensure the info you put in as as close as possible for the car you time though to get a close estimate for Bhp but as you can see it landed right where it should be on matts car.
thanks

Re: My Punto 60
very smart and looks to be accurate for a phone program! I paid quite a bit for my accelerometer based G-tech and it cant give loss-compensated hp figures like that, only Net HP (which ignores air, transmisson and rolling friction losses)
I wonder if it works on Galaxy S, Android OS as well so maybe...

Yes mate i think it does work on that phone although people complain off "forced close" alot on it...dont know why??
simply try typing in dyno on the Android Market there is a few (the free one is good too)
