Re: group holiday
i think it would be tough for alot of people with the funds it will cost, plus i dont like the idea of somthing going wrong with my car in another country and having to go the nurburgdeathtrap ring
i would have to have long hard think before i agree to anything like this but it still is a great idea

Re: group holiday
i'll be taking the beema on the ring with no traction control and hopefully close to 200bhp lmao
should i book a tow truck too lol
well the trip is from sheffield to the ring 583miles and 10hrs of driving (give or take a few mins as we will hit autobarhn lol) in my car thats very thirsty (22mpg average) i recon £90 in fuel maybe more depending on average speed the ring itself isn't too expensive and you dont have to go flat out just drive well with in you limits and have fun lol
was thinking of camping to keep costs down
obvisally we each know the normal weakness's of our cars so taking things like spares brake pads filters drive shafts stuff like that is smart lol or have AA get you home recovery
PLEASE bare in mind though if you crash on the ring your insurance wont cover you but you can buy ring insurance that isn't too expensive but its an option and depends how confident you are in you driving i will do some more looking into it as me and a couple of my mates are defo going a few more would be good but be warned i would say a couple of hundered quid will be needed for this as fuel useage will be high, i have worked out that on a full throttle lap on the ring my car will use 2 gallons per lap lol

Re: group holiday
I think for me its a future thing, id consider it in a few years time when im better of money wise and the car is in better shape. PLus id not get the time of work as my holidays are spoken for for next year already. Great idea and i want soooo badly to be that adventures!
Ive been wanting to organise an England Gumball really sometime as i think more poeple would be able to make that.
Thanks
Jason

Re: group holiday
England Gumball sounds more realistic as both me and James would have some issues at getting time off work with us been the only Mechanics

Re: group holiday
I took my Nissan around the Nurburgring a few years ago as part of a European road trip I did with a couple of friends. I bought breakdown cover to cover most of the trip but just risked it on the ring. I have since found out that if you have an accident not only do they charge you but you can be prosecuted by the police for no insurance. As for camping we stayed at the camping am nurburgring which is next to the gp track. I'd like to do another trip there but I think I'd probably hire a car to take round next time.

Re: group holiday
You can hire cars to drive on the ring like a ring taxi but you drive it yourself. There is plenty of info on the ben lovejoy nordschiefe website

Re: group holiday
sounds better than risking your own car, id love to be able to say ive been on it even if it was in a random hire car......i can actualy see a strange appeal to driving somebody else's car around too
All sounds very expensive though
Thanks for the link Gav

Re: group holiday
I'd like to join, but you lot would never catch me driving on british roads... not without a licence and LOTS of practice first anyways so I'd have to ride along with someone
