Supercharged Mk2.5 1.8 MX5
Hi guys, 1st post
Introducing Ebsi - my "slightly" modded MX5.
MP62 supercharger with TDR a/a intercooler (approx 9psi)
Adaptronic ecu
550cc injectors
FM "Twincooler" oil & coolant radiator (has an oil-cooler built in to the rad)
GAZ Gold Pro suspension
Elise S2 seats
17" OZ Superturissmo wheels with 205/40/17 Goodyear F1 GSD3 tyres
15" Rota Circuit 10 wheels with 195/50/15 Hankook RS2 tyres (mostly for track use)
EBC Yellow-stuff brake pads
Recently tuned and dyno'd at 242.9bhp 199lb/ft
My car on it's 17" OZ Superturissmo wheels a few years ago...
The current intercooled MP62 setup...
Elise S2 seats fitted...
I've since changed the mounting of the drivers seat to make it a bit more upright & much more comfortable.
On track at Bedford Autodrome...
It was featured in the Aug 2005 issue of EVO magazine in their "Road & Track Car of The Year" .
Here are a few pictures I took over the weekend...
And finally, waiting to launch at Santa Pod last year - this time wearing 15" Rota C10s (track wheels with Hankook RS2 track tyres).
14.041 seconds - should be quicker now

Re: Supercharged Mk2.5 1.8 MX5
It is indeed pretty rapid. I can now overtake in 6th rather than have to change down to 4th or 3rd. To be honest what I love most about it is exactly that, I can be really lazy and just leave it in high gears and still be much faster than pretty much anything else
I'll post a power/torque graph when I can be arsed to scan it in...

Its sounds it!!
Spose your demanstrating the advantage off superchargers here
if i go to overtake in 5th on even a 60mph road i wount hit enough boost to get me flying until ive pulled back in front off the car ive been trying to overtake for some time!! then it takes off like a missile. it was never bad when i ran a smaller turbo because it would spike to full boost like a diesel and give huge low end torque so it could overtake in 5th with the help of low gearing....gone are those days lol.
The charged MX5 i drove was the first supercharged car i ever drove and i was so suprised how from the word go there was a crisp throttle responce and instant torque, You should have a nosey at this very car, its martins (allenhellen) and he too has an ever growing spec list (a member on this forum in the gallery).
I must admit ever since the test drive ive had a secret earge to get an MX5 for a derbyshire car haha! the chassis is second to none and with the smooth power increase from the charger it makes an increadable balance.
Is this the spec its always had or have you been playing with different setups? anyway i look forward to seeing the graphs mate
thanks
jason
Re: Supercharged Mk2.5 1.8 MX5
i like that you (jason) have driven a supercharged car and have realised the difference between turbo and supercharger, and the difference between a turbo cinq and a charged one and why the set up on mine will be totally diff to a turbo setup
but i really cant wait to see this mx5 at a show or 2 i just love supercharged cars
