Fiesta S1600
Ford is celebrating its pocket rocket pedigree with a limited edition, performance-oriented version of the Fiesta called the S1600.
Following in the footsteps of mighty fast fiestas of the past, like the XR2i and the RS turbo.
The S1600 certainly looks the part, with plenty of exterior changes over the Zetec S on which it’s based, including a full body kit with a new front bumper, chunky side skirts and downforce supplied via a rear diffuser and large rear spoiler.
No fast ford would be complete without the now obligatory contrasting blue and white racing stripes, and this model will also get a 17-inch white alloys, so it will certainly stand out from the crowd.
The S1600 is based on the Zetec-S, and carries over the same 1.6-litre, 118bhp Duratec petrol engine, or the 95bhp Duratorq TDCi diesel option. Customers after a power hike, can take advantage of a 20bhp engine upgrade package being offered by Mountune, the same firm that can transform the Focus RS into a power crazed RS500.
To hot up the interior, Ford has added heated, leather sports seats, a leather trimmed steering wheel and gear knob. Plus Motorsport-branded floor mats and scuff plates.
Only 650 of these special feisty Fiestas are being created, and they are available to order now priced from £16,645 OTR.

Re: Fiesta S1600
how Poo Sprinkle can it get? Take a well respected name like S1600 with proper rallying pedigree, and stick it on a run-of-the-mill bog standard fiesta, and offer some fancy interior options. Job done. The fact that they are giving an optional power hike is irrelevant since you can get the same on any fiesta with that engine!

Re: Fiesta S1600
I totally agree the look of the car with the little stripes looks pathetic the best lookin fiesta with the stripes has to be the ST because it looks meaner and they have proper stripes on them not a fan of the new shape fezzer.

Re: Fiesta S1600
there is a new s1600 LM
Limited to just 500 units, the Zetec-S-based Ford Fiesta S1600 uses a 1.6-litre Duratec engine, producing 132bhp and 118lb ft of torque. That compares to the previous S1600's 118bhp, a car which has now sold out to be replaced by this model of the same name.
According to Ford, the new version has a top speed of 120mph and 0-60mph sprint time of 8.2sec - an improvement of 1.7sec compared with its predecessor.
Features of the limited edition version include a revised front bumper with flared splitter, extended side skirts, large rear spoiler and diffuser and 17-inch white alloy wheels. Also available are white or blue liveries, with contrasting motorsport stripes.
On the inside, the interior features heated leather sports seats, leather steering wheel and handbrake and motorsport mats.

Re: Fiesta S1600
I want to see another ST
forget this Zetec S stuff....its a great car but it needs to wear the right badge and the engine needs to be either turbo'd, charged or at least a tweaked 2.0l !!
if i were ford it would be 1.6 16v turbo with about 170bhp or a 2.0 with 185bhp or something like that...........come o Ford get a move on
ow but then id like to see a Fezzy RS with the new eco-boost 240ps engine in it too!!
thanks
Jason
