When it comes to posing the R8 turns heads. The light weight roof with it's water proof textile skin is very robust. You get the freedom of a soft-top motoring in just 19 seconds and you can put the roof down at speeds of up to 31 mph. The rear heated windscreen is seperate from the roof and can be raised or lowered to act as a windbreak although you also get an additional net wind deflector. The engine is a 5.2 litre V10 it does 0-124 mph in 12.7 seconds and the top speed is 194 mph. It does 19 mpg probably slightly less than that if you drive it hard. It also handles really well due to the quattro four-wheel drive system that works in any weather. Electronic stability control makes the Spyder even more stable together with Audi's magnetic ride technology. The system uses magnetic fields in the shock absorbers to adjust the response to the road conditions and adapt to the driver's style in milliseconds. They do a automatic box with steering wheel paddle changes and they also do a six-speed manual box.
