Jordans Golf 1.8T
Sooo was getting a little bored with the diesel but loved the fact it was a golf so after lots of searches for a new diesel and nothing found i bit the bullet and went for something more fun
i came back with a Golf 1.8t 3door
AGU 150bhp
heres how i picked it up
genuine r32 front bumper
hideous rear exhaust
steel wheels
6month tax
12month mot
first thing i did was swapped over my rear lights
then de-badged
i also removed the front silver gill and replaced it with my black grill off the diesel
theres lots more to do :
fit my alloys and spacers
boost gauge
cold air feed
de-wiper
the list goes on

Re: Jordans Golf 1.8T
Oh and to answer to the question in my Passat thread, I can only think of one or two things that would transfer from mine to yours, a cone filter which should be the right size for your MAF sensor, and the Forge 007p diverter valve but I'd put a stronger spring in it and its a pain to get to.

Re: Jordans Golf 1.8T
I love the sound of the bailey
To fit the 007p or equivalent I will need all the oem parts again as theyve all been blocked off So keeping my eyes pealed at the scrappy
Did the passat have a ko3s turbo ?
I'm not sure mines running 100% seems very laggy and big flat spot till around 3k revs Then it pics up :/

Re: Jordans Golf 1.8T
mine was very flat to start with (150bhp in a heavy car coming from 160bhp in a pretty light car) but i dont think it was as bad as that, got any fault codes or anything?
Yeah I'd fitted what some would call a K03s on the passat (was the turbo for the 190bhp Audi A4 BEX engine code), mounts different to the transverse engine though, hence not really having anything for you, and also the piperwork for even the re-circ/diverter valve is different.
James I'll message you, dont wanna clog someone elses thread

Re: Jordans Golf 1.8T
Thanks james And yeah i like how smooth it feels to drive supprisinly better than the diesel
No fault codes but just changed the temp sensor as that was causing a bouncy idle Seems a lot better now
Yeah I thought the passat was slightly different , I'm on the look out for a ko3s
Just ordered some
JOM coilovers and a 3inch down pipe Decat
Fitted a cold air feed pipe too try get it to breath better lol

Re: Jordans Golf 1.8T
I can get hold of brand new turbos but only oem (hence mine being the Audi one) so if you know of something which has it fitted standard and is a straight fit for yours I could have a nosey price wise, possibly an A3 or Mk4 Anniversary with the 180bhp standard Polo 9n3 GTI? Some turbos are a fortune though. But I'd always rather buy from a reliable source than say a 300 quid chocolate one from ebay which will sh*t its guts eventually meaning engine re-build lol.
The de-cat will make a noticable difference btw, feels much free'er at the top end. Get a stage 1 map for now though if it hasnt already, and add all the other bits later :-)

Re: Jordans Golf 1.8T
I'll have a nosey at work for the turbo if I remember mate, may be a decent price, may be a fortune but its worth a look either way. Was going to say hows the decat feel but I suppose youve not had much of a play because of the problem.
You doin the timing belt aswell? If the water pumps driven by the timing belt and thats coming off I know its added expense but if you dont know the history on the timing belt its definitely worth throwing one on while the rest is apart?

Re: Jordans Golf 1.8T
Cheers Ryan glad ya like it
Cheers Ricky much appreciated , if the timing hasn't already been done I will be getting it done with the pump , I do think the old owner has done the timing but Tryd to save cash and avoided the water pump Silly thing to do in my eyes for the sake of a £30 pump

Nice one dude, drove my old passat the other day and forgot how much it flew, cant imagine what this will be like if you end up with similar or more power as I'm sure its a good 150-200kg lighter
