The Passat Round 2
Well because I loved the platform so much and knew it so well I stuck with it, just face lifted, slightly newer and powered by diesel... I'll let the pictures do the talking,
Purchase day.
Old meets new.
4x4 Mode.
Comparisons.
A Kick Up The Ar5e
Getting Lower
New Wheel Trial.
All in all its ok but I currently hate it. Niggly annoying things which werent an issue with my B5. To add to the annoying little bits..... It may need a Turbo, It may need a Clutch, It needs an Injector so yeah minter

Re: The Passat Round 2

whats it like with the map on now then????

Re: The Passat Round 2
Got them aaaages ago it seems, they need refurbing, going for plain silver centres but polished lips to tie in with the other shiny bits on the car.
Its ok with the map I suppose, not really that impressive though. 165bhp but the torque is plop at 282lbft. It may actually make a little more but I think the clutch is struggling as it is. I'm sure I'll grow to love it in time but to get it to a point I'd enjoy it more I need to spend a fair amount on it and get it looking at 200bhp, and thats just not going to happen (at the moment anyway)

Re: The Passat Round 2
Cheers guys, I do like the look of it, and love the fact I spend half the amount on fuel. But so far to me it has no character and nothing that makes me feel glad to be in it like the other, maybe just the fact I put massive amounts of my time into the other and have owned it now for 3 years. As said in the other thread depending on a certain something happening it may all change but we'll see.

Sorry bud never saw this, or you in fact? Were you hiding? lol. Nah ride height isn't good enough yet, this weekend I plan to take the bump stops out of the front, I didnt realise I'd put them in and its just sat on them at the front (its bouncy as foooook ) and the rears need to come down a long long way but didnt bother adjusting them until I know I can sort the front height out.
Cheers Yankee. Its ok I suppose
Anyway a poop mod really but a useful one....
I never thought I'd put LED strips on my car but this i thought was pretty good

Ahhhh right, will have been on my way home from work.
Little more progress, got it sitting much better now.
Bump stops removed, Headlights restored, and a bit of a clean later and heres the current look with Dannys Jetta

Re: The Passat Round 2
Me being me I ended up with more wheels.....
Still on the lookout for something else wheel wise though. At the moment the clutch has now become highest on the priority list, hopefully going with an uprated one which will be able to take up to 400lbft should the need ever arise...
