C5 2.2hdi tuning??
ok right this is all i know so far
it is a 2.2hdi Peugeot engine which i believe to be 136bhp@4000rpm and 231lbs/ft@2000rpm
its a 52 plate saloon with citreons really cool hydropneumatic suspension with doesn't allow more than 5deg of lean when corning hard, or so i have read lol, it has the sport button which stiffens the suspesion up (buttertubs button i shall re-name it) its got alot of toys too but mainly i am going to have to do alot of research into tuning it as, although it goes at the mo, i just cant leave anything alone and i recon it has potential for some silly power lol

I love the suspension on these when it works properly it's so smooth and you can have it 4x4 stance or slammed i like the idea of renameing the sports button Buttertubs button it'll be nice to have another Citroen with me when we go out

Re: C5 2.2hdi tuning??
i am going to look into finding out if there is anyway of fooling the suspesion into thinking the car is stationary when its actually moving as when you slam it to the ground almost, the mo you hit 10mph it auto levels to a default setting which is pants in my eyes lol i want to role slammed and then when i get to a speed bump 4x4 it lol

Re: C5 2.2hdi tuning??
I wish mine came with this suspension it would make life so much easier when going over speed bumps there must be a way of doing that it would be good if it could be done ill have a look in to it.

Aaah this is a slightly older PSA engine then, the 2.0 TDCI engine took over from this in the fords etc which developed the same bhp but more torque.
I think mate you will find you will run into the same issues dad has and pretty much all of the PSA diesels and that is your injectors will not be big enough for stupid BHP not to mention the fact that your clutch and flywheel will quickly become useless at anything on or over 200bhp, if it were me id get a remap, panal filter and maybe a decat and that might see you 180bhp - 185bhp at which point your injectors may already be getting close.
A hybrids will not help you at that point because you dont have enough fuel available.
180bhp will be cheap enouhg and easy enough, over 200 may very start to cost serious money and time.
thanks
Jason
Re: C5 2.2hdi tuning??
cool thanks for that jay
just out of interest is it possible to fit bigger injectors or not??
in all fairness though i would be more than happy with 160bhp and a mountain of touque lol its not going to ever be a seriously fast or good looking car(mainly down to the way the suspension works) but abit more power never hurts lol
well we will see what happens lol going to pick the car up soon so will have some pics for you to see later

Re: C5 2.2hdi tuning??
yes injector swapping is possible, the issue is finding ones that will fit that are larger and will simply sit in place of the old ones without upsetting the ECU etc, i remember some Renault and PSA diesel ECU refuse to operate a new injector without being "coded" first.
Celtic tuning claim to take your engine from 136bhp to 178bhp and torque from 235 to 298lb/sf so in real terms you be seeing no less than 165/170bhp and 280/290lb/sf which youd be well impressed with to drive it
thanks
Jason

Re: C5 2.2hdi tuning??
cheers for that jay
right i have picked the car up tonight, was dark so no pics till the morning, and the drive home was interesting, all i'm going to say is i am now converted, the power delivery is amazing and it is soooooo comfy to drive and has all the mod cons

Re: C5 2.2hdi tuning??
Can't wait to see the pics i had a look in to the suspension but couldn't find any info the info i did find was that it's been used for years as you might all ready know and the suspension parts are relatively cheap

Re: C5 2.2hdi tuning??
there are 2 ways to do it lol
1 is to disconnect the vis sensor but i lose the speedo too
2 is to buy a box that plugs into the car somewhere and it bypass's it lol
option 2 me thinks lol

Re: C5 2.2hdi tuning??
Is it wise to be driving with the suspension full down anyway that fluicrap suspension isnt the most reliable so i belief you may cause yourself more problems
by messing with it
Or keeps some spare suspension sphere's with you and some fluid
THE CHOICE IS YOURS

Re: C5 2.2hdi tuning??
there is a place where i can buy uprated spheres that allow me to run it at its lowest with out any problems lol
as jay is aware i have stumbled across what my limp mode problem code maybe be lol, cant belive i am about to say this but it looks like i could be suffering from too much boost lol, its fine if you thrash it around and give the engine and turbo a hard time but if you back of and hold the engine at steady rpm's for any lengh of time it jumps into limp mode and bins the boost
soooooo time to fit a boost gauge and get the turbo off and find out if its a dreaded kkk turbo, if it is i am going to bine it and fit the t34/t4 hybrid i can lay my grubby mits on and look into some bigger injectors and see what this engine is good for, lets hope its not a kkk as i would actually like to leave it stock with only a re-map lol, soooooo not happening regardless of what i say, i just cant help myself lol
