key info

Yo ! Finally getting round to sorting myself a spare key for the car, so i've found a fob and blank blade now i'll buy this when hopefully you guys can help me,
A)where the get the key cut
B)where to get the key programmed to the car
C)price to get it done

some places wont cut the key blade if you provide it yourself for some reason, ive had the same sh** when asking about the one for lindsays,

if you can find out your SKC code from your clocks i can program the key, i just cant seem to get the SKC codes from the newer clocks which yours run,

if i find someone that can get the skc codes for the likes of lindsays or get the software myself i'll let you know but i havent managed to source the software for the newer ones yet

its short for Secret Key Code i think, its like the pin code which allows you to be able to login to the instrument cluster to code the keys, i can do the key coding with VCDS (vagcom) if i have the code but i cant get the codes using it as ross-tech (the guys who created vagcom) didnt want to include it on vagcom in case of people using it for the wrong reasons,

if only it was a honda lol

all i do is go to honda with my chassis number and for £30 they send me a key and fob for my car lol as they keep every car on system lol

whereas vw/audi/skoda/seat want around 160 notes for a replacement 2/3 button flip key fob, they used to be able to get the skc codes but even the dealers dont see the codes now with the new kit they use for key programming

aye suppose not but i'll be honest you dont hear of them being nicked much tbh though do you, they might be complicated but id say its a good thing in a way

true but to be honest i dont know of any one that has had there car knicked properly

plus alot of car thefts now are key burglary where they do the house over for the keys or hook them via the letter box

our nissan micra at work got nicked

never seen again

i think i must just live in really nice areas lol

i meant in terms of vag group cars after a certain year, i dont know of anyone with a modern vag motor thats been nicked

Nope me neither they do come up with some good ideas for security on them
