Re: my mk 3 ibiza tdi
Hi everyone its about time for an update lol the white wheels are fitted and are on toyo proxes 4 and i boutght some nickle colour bolt covers, am using these without the center cap partly because i havent painted them and secondly i think they look more motorsport, abit like 5 bar comps.
I've also sent my turbo off to get reconditioned at midlands turbo with the help of jason and mitchell, so big thanks lads
And i also got it uprated, bigger compresser wheel and houseing:P
here are some picks of the old turbo.
Here are some pictures of he new turbo, and my clean sparkly inlet manifold
Here are some random pics of my dials and boost gauge lol
I have re-ran all my boost pipes to and from the intercooler to shorten the circuit and it seems to work well, and they are all 51 mm black ones just so they match i havnt got eny pictures of it yet but i will get round to it,
i only have one niggle with the car at the moment it isnt runnig at as high boost with the new turbo, before it was peekin just under 2 bar and running at 1.5 now its peaking and running at 1. I'm not sure wether its because or the uprated componants in the turbo, the new intercooler pipes or the fact that i have re-run the boost gauge pipe?
Oh and its booked in for a full custom exhaust on friday its all happenin.

cheers, they took me 3 weeks an many layers of paint lol. It cost me an extra £70 to uprate the housing and wheel, thats ontop of the £180 to recon it and then vat ontop of it all.

Re: my mk 3 ibiza tdi
just whats known as a k03s, its just the same as standard on the exhaust side but has a larger compressor,
it might not be boosting right because its not set up to run the turbo youve put on, it might be registering too much boost and throwing it into limp mode, or it could be a split/cracked vac pipe or a faulty maf, sometimes its a pain in the arse to find that sort of problem

Re: my mk 3 ibiza tdi
Sometimes when they recon the turbo they adjust the rod length maybe this is the problem ? As I know my turbo I had to re-adjust mine

Re: my mk 3 ibiza tdi
actuator rod length sets the pre-tension on the VTG and therefore the base boost pressure. Does it feel slower than before then, or is the gauge pressure the only thing you're going off?
Also, you seem to slip into txt spk when you're frustrated lol, please don't
