Re: mario's 320i
well for starters is your car fitted with an OBD socket or better still is the the ECU fitted with a push in chip? if so you could open the lid and have a look at it? and most chips for N/A petrols only have modified ignition maps (advanced timing) so maybe you could look into the stock advance setting for the car and test them against yours in a full throttle situation??

Re: mario's 320i
ok the cold weather has claimed my car, the previous owner said it had anti-freeze in and clearly it doesn't as the rad burst today due to an overheat cos the rad was frozen so now need to get a new rad at another 100 notes and then its going up for sale and i'm going back to fiat where my heart is but not totally sure which fiat model i might break away from the norm

theres nothing boring about either coupe 20vt or punto gt... have you ever driven either of them? the gt isnt all that fast or well handling as standard but seb2 and 160-170bhp it will put a massive smile on your face.. the coupe just needs better suspension and it will out-handle a bravo any day, plus fit some sideskirts/get rid of the gay black bit around the car and they look cool as fuck.

Drive a stock Coupe 20V Turbo mate trust me!, boring is the last thing you'll be saying on exiting it they sound awsome and they go like f##k......it held Fiat the title of fastest hot hatch for some time with a top speed of 156mph with just 220bhp, plus with tweaks they make an immense drag car was talking with a guy the other day who built a 512bhp Coupe and wrote it off while pulling away from a Ferrari 360 on the motorway
Like munkul said they handle a bit pants and the brakes are less than impressive but its a Fiat! thats what its all about the word complete package is for other manufacturers hehe.....
Bravo HGT....hhhmmm, left one for dead at 116bhp once in mine and i wasn't impressed with it.

Re: mario's 320i
i have driven a PGT and was not impressed but it was while i had the insane unoT lol the coupe i know i few people with them and they say they are quick cars but sooooooo soft and unreliable
yeah i love the beema and have found out whats caused the problems, the thermostat has stuck closed boiled the water and burst a seal on the expansion tank, i have fixed the tank and i am going to remove the thermo and it should be fine, i am going to keep the beema till feb and stick a 12month ticket on it and sell it then as it will fly its test and it also gives me a chance to tidy it up abit
the reason i am thinking of a marea or brovo/a is for the space lol
i'll keep you all informed as to what happenes with it but at the mo its parked up on me mates drive not doing anything lol

Re: mario's 320i
ok i am finally home after over a month away and seeing as how me mum was paying for the fuel i filled my little beema with V-Power for the trip home and have made a couple of interesting discoveries
1, according to the on board trip comp and the fuel gauage i have used alot less fuel coming home than when i went up (going up with 22mpg coming back 29mpg) and that was trip reset as i joined the dual carrage way each time so is only taking into account motorway running and it was the same both ways
2, is easier to hold at speed with less throttle
3, seems to be a load faster over 4k
i am wondering if it is chipped if it is set up to run on higher octane and weather that would account for the nasty power drop off on the rollers i had when the vanos kicked in (for thous not in the know on beemas vanos is like v-tec its the cam timing changing)

Re: mario's 320i
sorry to be anal but its nothing like proper v-tec, proper vtec switches cam profiles entirely, yours (like many other modern engines) changes the timing to suit optimum engine load and rpm.

Re: mario's 320i
yes munkul that is anal lol i know its not the same as v-tec, it just works on a similar principle of changing the timing of the in-let cam, i was simplifying it for thous that might not be a techincaly mind as some of the others on here

Re: mario's 320i
you may be dissapointed if you visit the rollers aiming for more from running super unleaded, you may see 1-2 bhp but the gains with super unleaded come from the fact that the ECU can be tweaked to run more advance without risking det and therefore make more power. But it may well be working for you.
It would be interesting to see, i cant run mine on anything but super because it was setup to run on it....although im confident it would be fine due to the W.I etc
Thanks
Jason

Re: mario's 320i
well what i have been thinking (wondering) is weather this has been set-up to run super hence the nasty dip in power at 4.5k and the occasional hic-up (has stopped on super) also the poor mpg, i aint looking to soaly gain power cos i'm running super, i'm just wondering if the extra power over stock has been gained from a chip or re-map and weather its been set-up on super or not, unfortinatly the previous owner bought the car as is and had no history so god knows but he did say that the guy he bought it off had a 330ci drift car so it may have been played with which is why another trip to nobels is on the cards for me and it will be happening once i have got jube's seicento sorted as he wants to RR it in itself current form to see what it is producing
