anything can mate within reason, theres a guy with a b3 estate and he has made his into a van, proper retro and cool as fck
id love to do it but it would probably be costly,
it would be wicked though cos id have some thick memory foam and have like a fold down bed, that fills the back when down but can like fold up and give a massive space for lugging stuff about or even come out completely so it is a full on van, if i ever get the chance i think im gonna go for it.... that and some nice power mods would really make it different, a 1.8t passat van running 300 or so bhp, i cant imagine there anything like that about
reality check for now though, nothing will be getting done mod wise for a while i reckon, other than completing retrofitting fogs

Re: The Passat - depressing times
yes mate doing the pillars, i was reluctant to leave them bits on the switches in the cream colour but i originally painted some black and it just kept chipping off when putting back together, doesnt look as bad as i thought it would with cream buttons anyway

Re: The Passat - depressing times
right well i ran out of dye so the roof is a bit patchy and i only got one of the pillars done :hyst but they will be easy enough to trim instead if i fancy it, also bobbed on a new bit while the lining was down, think jaws.....
after being undecided what to do with the grab handles and visors ive left them for now and kinda like the contrast, goes with the pillars that arent done anyway....

ebay, type in 3m carbon vinyl, look for the ones that say di-noc 3m vinyl etc, it comes in various sizes, or go to this site....

Re: The Passat - depressing times
if you paint then do several coats of laquer and they shuold be good for winter running and still look cool lol i would recommend 4-5 coats of clear laquer and they should be hard enough to with stand the salt and cold weather
