Lotus Turbo Esprit (1980-1992)

The Lotus Esprit has had a long and illustrious history dating back to when the car was first introduced in 1976. One of the most revered versions was the Turbo that first surfaced in 1980 and featured a four-cylinder aluminium engine that could produce 210bhp. The Esprit's credentials were furthur increased thanks to a movie apperance-the Turbo was Jame's Bond's vehicle of choice (both on the Road and underwater) in The Spy Who Loved Me. Over the decades there have been numerous incarnations of the Esprit, but it's production run (that spanned an incredible 28 years) came to a close on February 21st, 2004. Fans needn't worry though-Lotus are already designing it's replacement.
