Ford Mondeo ST-tdci 2.2

Here are the facts and figures for my 05 plate mondeo ST-tdci

Tested on Noble Motorsport rolling road

BHP........... 188.5bhp @ 3573 rpm

Torque...... 321.7lb/sf @ 2513 rpm

30-60 in third - 4.5 seconds

0-60 - 7.6-7.8 seconds

max speed - over 140mph

weight in kgs - 1484kgs

fun factor - 8/10 (its an oil burner but boy does it go!

I once again got to drive the ST oil burner to work yesterday for its MOT and i have to say i fall in love with it more and more everytime i drive it! in the real world round corners up hills and between roundabouts youd be hard pushed to keep up with this car! the turbo is by far the most livley of all the diesels ive drove, any gear as low as 1350rpm the slightlest prod on the throttle and it starts to pull instantly as the Variable vein turbo spools into life rapidly,,,,,,peak torque hits at between 1800-2000rpm and when it does the traction control fights for grip in first second and sometimes third. The low geared 6 speed box also means the out and out accelertion is great,,,,between 2nd and third all of the 1600kgs is blasted forwards like its nothing more than a fiesta sized car.
I was quite impressed to find out also that half throttle blips follwed by sudden release of the throttle from 1400-1800rpm gives an spine tingling flutter from the turbo,,,,all this and i averaged 38mpg in trafic!! i need one of these cars

For a Diesel it's very impressive the torque is insane very responsive and am i right in thinking your still wanting more from it

Ive edited your post at the top youll be pleased to know your car doesn't weight 1600kgs!......it only weights 1483kgs explains why it as fast as what it is one the road heheee

wow that is impressive, would film mine in 4th from 30 but would a long dull video lol ...................... turbo lag sucks
