Corsa Diesel Project
Welcome to project Corsa Diesel. Unusual I know but i'm bored.
Just done the necessaries, oil and filter and a good clean and polish.
Lowered it 40mm the other weekend (just on springs)
Put on some old Skool Nova rims which cleaned up nicely. Planning a refurb at some point, white centres with chrome lip.
Debadged grill
Some after market steering wheel I've had in the cellar for years.
Got a twin pipe back box still to fit to make it a bit leary.
In a few months i'm planning to drop in a 1.7 isuzu turbo diesel engine from a cavalier and get that remapped for some extra boost, swiftly followed by brakes that will work (need to do some research about what vauxhall bits are interchangeable. At this point i'll be tempted to loose the back seats and stiffen it up with strut braces and poly bushes.
Planning to keep the body subtle, may smooth and paint the bumpers. Want to go for a smooth subtle euro-ish look.

Re: Corsa Diesel Project
Glad to hear there's a diesel crew! I'm kinda sold on the economy so far, just need turbo for more power. I got owned in my old 200bhp prelude by a silver Skoda turbo diesel on parkway, dunno what he was running but it was seriously fast and full of passengers! Any diesel advice appreciated as this is my first one.

Re: Corsa Diesel Project
hi and welcome to the forum mate, an interesting choice in a project but at least its a different project, a 1.7tdi corsa would make for a serious little smoker that would surprise some bigger more expensive motors its the best colour too, blurple lmao

Re: Corsa Diesel Project
Hehe It's always the way, once you start...but that nice vision (I know you had it too) of tootling to work with a nice standard grown up and respectable wagon soon disappears and the adrenaline seeking show off inside you starts screaming BOOOORING!
I see you have a TDI Seat sir, any idea what sort of power its making? I think I saw it was remapped, what kind of safe power gains did you get?

Re: Corsa Diesel Project
cheers man
im in s5, but work just off the parkway,
as for the grown up respectable car well i had a vw bora at 18 which some people said to me it was a "grandad car" until i did a few mods on it, and the same happened with the passat, except a bit more stick seeing as its also an estate and even i didnt like the colour when the car was standard, i love how the views of it are different now haha,
look forward to the transformation

Re: Corsa Diesel Project
well i got it rolling roaded at 179bhp but it had LOTS of boost leaks so should be making more, have a quick scan at my forum post just to get a rough idea of what i've done etc.

Re: Corsa Diesel Project
This would be an interesting project.
I'm on my 1st diesel and I'm loving every minute of it (more so since getting it remapped to 150bhp)
