Re: Just to say hello
hi and welcome mate
choice one
1108cc turbo and you should see (with alot of money) around 110bhp
choice two
1242cc 8v turbo again alot of money but jays runs 160+bhp and will kill almost anything
choice three
1242cc 16v N/A will cost you less than a grand and you should see 100bhp+ and one very quick little car
choice four
1388cc 16v N/A once fitted in standard spec will be 100bhp and will fly but its a very modern engine so you will be looking at alot of wiring work
personally i'd say go for option 3 as a well sorted 1242 16v in a cento will be a force to recond with plus its the cheapest to get hold of and prob the least hassle way of making a cento go quick

Re: Just to say hello
1242 8v spi out of the punto 60 is a direct swap
1242 8v mpi needs a couple of vernt small mods but basically a straight swap
1242 16v mpi again needs a couple of small alterations but is pretty much straight in

Re: Just to say hello
it ended up that colour cos when i crashed it i only had silver panels and a tin of black paint and then when i fitted the 1242 mpi the bonnet wouldn't shut so rather than make a smaller spacer plate i just cut a hole in the bonnet so out came the trusty black paint lol i like to be different lol
the good thing is with a cinq is you can do things like that and it still looks good because it just makes it look really serious and hardcore lol

with the 1242 8v spi out of the punto 60 do you keep the cinquecento gearbox or do you put the punto one in?

Re: Just to say hello
keep everything apart from the block and the inlet and TB also try and get a later P60 engine as the have the hot cam in that was used in the P75mpi which is good for a few ponies also try to get a hold of a P75 exhaust manifold and down pipe as its a 4-2-1 and again sees a few ponies, if you cant get a hold of the exhaust manifold i have one but it will need modifying to fit as its currently designed to fit on to my custom exhaust i made which is full de-cat and 2inch all the way back lol

Re: Just to say hello
yeah use the cinq ecu, loom, gearbox, drive shafts, airbox, coil packs (cos you know they are good) literally only swap the block and inlet lol cos they are basically identical engines apart from one is 1108cc and the other is 1242cc but apart from that they are the same lol oh and the TB on the 1242 is bigger too
the easiest way to gain 16bhp over a standard 1108 is to fit a 1242spi engine from the later P60 (R reg onwards iirc) then fit a 4-2-1 exhaust off a P75 and a bigger 36mm TB off a peugeot 1.4 and you should in theory be somewhere close to 75-80bhp and a mountain of tourque

its abit of a handful at times yes haha, the cinquecento is both lighter and shorter geared than the Starlet meaning more torque at the wheels so it can spin massively at times.....
I took a friend out in it today and turned of the the water methanol injection of and set the boost controller to low boost and it still managed to spin the wheels in third gear up hill with these slippy conditions as soon as the turbo spiked up over 8psi, it not rare for it to spin in fourth and on the odd occasion even 5th but with the right driving style and half throttle you can make the big turbo work for you and then it will put the power down and still feel rapid at light throttle
Thanks
Jason
