Re: My Mk4 TDI Sport
them vrs rims suit quite well, if you hadnt guessed im a fan of swapping rims from one vag make to another, wherabouts in sheffield are you as ive deffinatley never seen you and it wouldnt be hard to miss,
very nice tidy motor anyway, like the colour scheme, you still running the standard clutch? be interested to see what sort of hammering its taking, you'll deffinately be wanting one if you go the hybrid turbo route... which i assume you will be looking at the spec list, surely thats the next step ;-) the power bug never stops,
good work anyway

Re: My Mk4 TDI Sport
Like jay says I'm from owlthorpe near moss way police station still on standard clutch yeah but when that goes I've got an up rated one lined up and as for the hybrid we'll have to see means getting a LSD haven't really got a grand to throw at one of those never mind the hybrid its self

Re: My Mk4 TDI Sport
when you come to get a hybrid sorted are you looking into hybriding your existing turbo or buying a larger hybrid?? reason i ask is when i sent my GT15454 turbo of (early golf tdi turbo) to midland tubo's they quoted me 60 plus vat to change the compressor wheel and housing for one of my choice ontop of the 180 plus vat to recon the turbo so its good value, in the end i went a different route because the GT15 was to small full stop and it was killing the little bugger haha, so i went to a larger hybrid.

Re: My Mk4 TDI Sport
I have no idea lol was looking to put a PD150 on but got told it wouldn't fit but the only hybrid i've looked at really was one from JBS for around £1100 and i don't really want to be spending that lol, what do you reckon then send mine off ? and would i only ned to change the clutch ? or would it be injectors and fuel pump etc ?

Re: My Mk4 TDI Sport
well do you no exactly what turbo is on yours??? you need to do a little research into what limitations the stock turbine wheel and housing are capable of before you decide to fit a bigger compressor and housing, thats the issue i had with mine, i was running 120bhp @ 1 bar of boost, and the little GT15 was flat out so it was over speeding and damaging the shaft, and because the compressor was working outside of its parameters it was super heating the boost and causing the power to drop massively. When i sent it of i was intending to fit the larger compressor and wheel from a Renault megane 1.9 DCI engine (GT17) which would have given me about another 15bhp......but the small turbine housing meant gains were minimal and the power would tail of as the revs got up. so you want to make sure yours wouldn't do the same if you had yours hybrided!
In the end i went for a saab 2.0 turbo Garrett GT1752 which is hybrided with my old centre housing making it easy to plumb in etc, the GT1752 has a much larger exhaust housing and a very large compressor so just by fitting that and going to mpi i gained 38bhp at the same boost on a 1.2 litre 8 valve engine!! another 20bhp is tide up in a restrictive intercooler, exhaust manifold and throttle body plenum so it shows how well the larger hybrid is working
So if i where you id look into finding an altogether larger turbo if you find out yours is to small for the power you aim for ricky will probably no abit more about the choice as he told me about a few guys running 250bhp plus on VRS's
As for the injectors etc i dont now what yours are rated too but being a vw/audi engine i would imagine large ones form other engines will fit?? not sure....

Re: My Mk4 TDI Sport
Seems very complex lol I'm in no rush for a hybrid anyways so I'll probably go down that route when my turbo pops lol but I'll be bugging you for the information i require !

Re: My Mk4 TDI Sport
if its a kkk then its a BORGWARNER KKK BV39 turbo, thats going off the fact your started life as a 2003 1.9tdi 130bhp, the other option for the same car is a garrett gt1749v, both have the same engine code ASZ, you would have to have a look at your turbo and see what it says on it

Re: My Mk4 TDI Sport
i was led to beleive that others with the asz engine have fitted hybrid pd 150 turbos, what exactly they have done i dont know, i think from that though with the mods you already have most see about 200-220bhp with ridiculous amounts of torque, after that then you have to start playing with injectors etc, theres a guy ive asked to join who has a fabia that started life as a pd 100 but is now running 270, i hope he signs up as the build is crazy and im pretty sure he will have plenty of info in that area, i think i read that he's now running a q7 3.0tdi turbo but anyway, i'll be taking note of a lot of things as im sure knowing me one day that a certain polo will be getting some new tricks, oh and you need to edit your sig to say ONLY CURRENT SEAT OWNER , i had an ABF mk2 ibiza at one stage (i wish i still had it sometimes as it was pretty good fun, and i would have loved to have seen it deafening people on the rollers)

the GT1749v is flat out at 210-220bhp and is pretty pushed on my dads at 188.5bhp making it less than ideal as an upgrade, the 49v was made to be an extremely responsive turbo coming as low as 1100rpm on the 2.2 tdci engine. the GT1749v would be ideal as a hybrid to go over 180bhp but you will find most of these were cast as as part of the exhaust manifold for there application.
